Zojirushi’s SM-YAE in the vacuum insulated travel mug series comes in four eye-catching colours and a 16 oz. capacity, making it a compact accessory for those who need their beverages on the go. The SM-YAE features a SlickSteel® interior, an alternative to the non-stick coating used in other vacuum insulated bottles by Zojirushi. Mugs with the SlickSteel® finish are non-coated on the inside and are instead polished with an electronically charged method to treat and finish the interior. This creates a surface that is not only corrosion resistant but also repels any foreign substances that could stain, resulting in a clean, stainless steel housing for your beverages.

The vacuum insulation technology used in these series work to keep the temperature of the beverage at a constant for hours by completely removing the air from in between the two layers of stainless steel that make up the walls of the mug. By doing so, a vacuum is created disabling any heat from travelling through air thus creating an advanced way of preserving heat. To strengthen this retention of temperatures, the insulated products feature a layer of copper or aluminum which help reflect the heat. The insulation of the body of product is aided by an airtight, insulated lid. The heat retention achieved through this technique helps keep the hot beverages still hot (rather than lukewarm) and cold beverages cool (rather than room temperature) for hours after filling when compared with products using either foam or double wall insulation. The snug fitting and leak resistant flip lid comes with a safety lock to protect from accidental spillage, making the mug perfect for carrying in a bag or a purse.

All the surfaces that come into contact with the beverage, including the lid and 18/8 stainless steel interior are manufactured using BPA-free materials to assure safe use.

Tip: It is recommended to pre-heat or pre-chill the mug with hot water or ice to help them preserve the beverage’s temperatures longer.
